Birds x Young Henrys Super Bowl 9 Hole Invitational 2025
Our loyal fans and family flocked to the Byron Bay Golf Club for another unforgettable event… the Superbowl Nine Hole Invitational, proudly presented by Birds and Young Henrys.
The day kicked off in true style, with ice-cold Young Henrys brewskis setting the tone and teasing a brand-new, never-seen-before label (keep your eyes, and mouths open). The feast that followed was nothing short of legendary, courtesy of Bowerbird’s very own Tommy. Sliders, wings, chili fries, you name it. A full-blown American blowout, perfect fuel for the action-packed day ahead.
As halftime in the Super Bowl approached, our resident MC Blair McD took the reins for the infamous Birds Putt Putt Jam. Two halftime shows were up for debate, Kendrick Lamar’s epic performance or a bunch of legends battling it out for PPJ’s closest to tin? Tough call, but we all know where our loyalties lie.
With the Eagles locking in victory early on, the crew wasted no time, Young Henrys tinnies in hand, racing to their starting holes for a shotgun start. From flushed irons to outright shanks, the energy was electric, fueled further by DJ James Mack spinning tunes from the clubhouse balcony.
The boys from Ballina claimed top honors with a rock-solid score of 22.5, -7 off the stick, with one of them also nabbing the longest drive. Meanwhile, our very own Craig Warton (aka Warto) somehow snuck in to claim the nearest to the pin prize… CCTV on the 12th next year, perhaps?
A huge shoutout to Sue The Boy for supplying some truly epic prizes: a hand-crafted signet ring for the longest drive winner and a custom-made ball marker for the NTP champ.
Then, it was time for the Putt Putt Jam final. Our ringleader Blair rallied the troops to our makeshift putting green inside the BB clubhouse, where the energy was at an all-time high. With a Taylormade Spider putter up for grabs, Dan and Noons put up a valiant fight, but it was an inch-perfect putt from Flanno that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Dan and Noons didn’t leave empty-handed, walking away with a swag of Birds gear, Pit Viper sunnies and Taylormade balls.
‘It’s been five years of the Birds x Young Henrys Super Bowl 9 Hole Invitational and it just keeps getting better. The 1st few years were hosted at Palm Meadows on the Gold Coast and the last two have been at our local track the Byron Bay Golf Club. Such a great crew all round in pulling it all together with so many laughs and some great (and not so great) golf! Not going to lie, the following day is one of the harder Tuesday’s of the year, but it’s totally worth it and we’re already discussing how we can further level up 2026."
