Some good news this week. Pure Golf Collection ran a Pure Profile on Birds, sitting down with founder Frankie Kimpton on where it all started and where it's headed.
Naturally, we're pretty chuffed.
If you've ever wondered what makes Birds tick, the piece nails it. It's lifestyle and melodies running deep in the brand's DNA, as Frankie puts it in the interview.Because we never set out to be another golf brand. We wanted a whole vibe. Surf, music, art, and late arvo tee times.
"We're building a lifestyle around the game, and not just another golf brand."
— Frankie Kimpton, founder
From ten caps to a lifestyle
It started with ten caps. That was it.
These days the custom-block nylon Tokyo and Osaka Country Club lids are still the ones people geek out on. The kind of cap that looks as good on the first tee as it does down the beach or at the pub.
From there it's grown into threads that don't take themselves too seriously, plus the accessories golfers love to obsess over.
What's next
We're only warming up.
The Byron Bay flagship has been open since late last year. There's a collab with Aussie surfer Marsy Harrison landing soon (boardshorts and a towel, very us).
And a big NRL tie-up on the way, with golf gear for every club team.
Big thanks to the crew at Pure Golf Collection for the feature.
